Not right now, soz.
Ingvar is utterly useless. He’s aware of it – and he doesn’t mind it. No anxiety about the future, not a drop of worries. Why? Because he loves it. He’s had everything handed to him on a platter, and he doesn’t expect it to stop any time soon, so why care about making something of himself when he could just enjoy life and all the pleasures it provides? He’s a hedonist through and through, and, as soon as he’ll find the opportunity, he’ll wave goodbye to his family and head down to the Mediteranian to hook up with at least three different guys called Ignacio.
He is very open about his sexuality, which earns him a lot of side-eye from the more conservative population of Durmstrang – and if a teacher doesn’t care about his relationship preferences, they’ll side eye him for barely paying any attention in class. Ingvar gets easily irritated if someone is denying him what he thinks he deserves – be it distracting him from staring at a hot classmate, or telling him that he indulges himself too much. He does not care much for what other’s think of him and he’s the guy you could talk into all kinds of crazy plans – if he’ll find it amusing or in any other way a good time, he’ll be in, despite anything. He does hate to be told what to do, and if you do it enough times, you will piss him off, and you’re going to regret it, because as much as he doesn’t care for his family or it’s legacy, he’s not above using blood magic as a tool to get his own way.
Although Ingvar is the younger of a set of twins, he is still the heir to the ancient and esteemed Winterfeldt family. Why? Because his older sibling, born barely 5 minutes before, is a girl. And the Winterfeldts are as traditional as traditional gets, especially considering the fact that they have longsince practiced such things as blood magic. When was the last time you saw any dark magic users be liberals and not conservatives? I don't remember either.
As the only son he was doomed to become the bearer of the Winterfeldt family name – one that just a few generations ago was feared and revered as one of the oldest, strongest and mightiest of Scandinavia. None would cross a family that had enough money to buy any judge and enough power to sacrifice those that it couldn’t buy – and never face any consequences. On the one hand, this was all fine and well – for his entire life he’s had everything handed to him on a platter, and nothing has been denied. His grandfather would not have approved of such a lack of discipline, but he, and his oldest son were both dead, so the estate and title went to Ingvar’s father – a rather meek man, who cared more about tending to his stamp collections than blood magic or reputation. But for some undiscernable reason Ingvar’s father still insisted that his son continue the family line. Did the man actually care about leaving some kind of a legacy, was it like a streak that he didn’t want to break? Or, perhaps...
Perhaps it was indirect punishment, as a response to the fact that Ingvar is loudly and unapologetically gay. He knew his parents didn’t approve, but his mother was too busy trying to ‘straighten out’ his sister, Kirsten and make her become a good wife for some pureblood guy, and his father was too cowardly to actually take charge and give his son a good earful about not conforming to traditional values. Instead, the man arranged a marriage with some girl who, apparently, had been at Durmstrang this entire time, and yet her name didn’t ring even a single bell in Ingvar’s mind.
